A ragtag collection of musings poems and images of the beloved Chignecto region of the incredible Bay Of Fundy. A tribute to the people of the "Salt and Fir" whose exploits and thoughts are now part of eternity's blog. We grant unto Mother Nature the glorious creation of this magnificent eco system and find ourselves in it's solace . It is now ours to nurture, protect and discover.

Pilgrimage

Drink deeply from the dayspring of my love
O weary pilgrim,
For the road behind you is wet with the tears
Of your search
And the way ahead is fraught with the fears
Of your longing.
But for now shake the dust from your senses
And refresh your spirit in the coolness
Of my eternity.

Soar now and ride the breeze of splendour
Beyond the twinkling beacons of the universe
Where the unity of life abides
The great benificent whose wonder
Is mutely reflected by the efforts
Of these heavenly orbs
Do not turn away from the light
For the eyes see not
When the back is turned.

Now tarry not, young traveller
The time is nigh and the way is clear.
Walk softly upon the mystical path,
Yet let your tread be sure.
And remember me young sage
When you reach the garden of eternal splendour
For the rose that blooms will not die
Ere the water of my dayspring flows.

                              Sail Away

The morning sky splays o’er the waves

I’m walking on the strand

The sand shifts e’er beneath my feet

And runs out of my hands

The red bleeds now upon the brine

I’ve walked the night away

A distant bird calls out a name

My heart cries out today.

 Chorus: Sail away, sail away

No more the fears of yester years

Or the memories of a day.

Sail away, sail away

My soul rises free and carries me

Like a bird out of the Bay.

My soul rises free and carries me

Like a bird out of the Bay.

Her eyes spring from the early mist

Her voice is on the wind

Her laughter rings within my heart

And tells me where I’ve been.

For she lies now beneath the waves

Of Fundy’s ancient swell

And I stand here upon the strand

To toll the midnight bell.

  Sail away, sail away

No more the fears of yesteryears

Or the memories of a day

Sail away, sail away

My soul rises free and carries me

Like a bird out of the Bay

My soul rises free and carries me

Like a bird out of the Bay

And if life calls to let you go

My back against the wall

 I turn my face

Unto life’s grace

To find you

Where you call.

May you fly so high,

Tthe worlds you see

Bring magic every day

May life’s love lines

All intertwined

Light your smiling eyes to say

Sail away, sail away

No more the fears of yesteryears

Or the memories of a day

Sail away

Sail away

My soul rises free and carries me

Like a bird out of the Bay

Sail away, sail away

I cast my heart upon the Bay

That carries me to see

My soul rises free and carries me

Like a bird out of the Bay
